Krav Maga is based on simple and easy to learn techniques and natural and instinctive reactions, movements and psychology.
Krav Maga is a modern form of self-defense and a complete fighting system that is simple, effective and practical. This reality-based form of self-defense has been developed over decades for use by civilians, law enforcement agencies, security agencies and the military (including special forces). It is used in hostile, violent and unpredictable environments all over the world. Our techniques have been tested on battlefields, streets and in the toughest and most hostile areas in the world over decades.
Krav Maga has been developed in order to teach practical and effective self-defense in the shortest possible time. You get mental and physical conditioning, push yourself to the limit, get fit and lose weight. You will look and feel fitter and be much more confident even after a few weeks training. The IKMF at the Krav Maga Institute in NYC has developed its teaching and training methods and techniques for civilians, law enforcement and security professionals based on some of the most recent and up to date research into physical education, physiology and psychology that modern science has to offer.
We train children with a separate Krav Maga syllabus which is more specific to their needs.
We offer women only classes but recommend that women also attend mixed classes as well in order to make training as realistic and beneficial for them as possible.
Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bear-hugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. We teach people to function under stress and the shock of a sudden violent encounter.
We are the only school in NYC (or New York State for that matter) certified by the International Krav Maga Federation from Israel which was the original organization that trained Avi Moyal, Eyal Yanilov, Gabi Noah, Tommy Blom, Amnon Darsa and Tamir Gilad. All our instructors are certified by, and maintain the training standards of, the International Krav Maga Federation.
